3 Ways To Grow Your Persistence

Do you know what animal can run the furthest and keep going for longer than any other animal? Is it a cheetah?… No. Is it a lion?… Nope.

Could it be an antelope? Not an antelope either. Think about which animal can travel for days on end without stopping. Yes, it’s you. You are able to keep going for longer than any other creature on Earth. You’re amazing! You are the most persistent. It’s hard-wired into you.

Knowing that persistence is one of your core traits can be helpful when you’re trying for a baby because sometimes persistence is what it takes.

If you’ve ever read the biography of anyone successful, be it an Olympic athlete, a top CEO, a Nobel prize-winning scientist or a best-selling author, then they have one thing in common:

Human Persistence

Trying to get pregnant can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain. It’s such an ongoing struggle, until the day you reach the summit, you get pregnant and you feel on top of the world.

Here are 3 ways to grow your persistence:

1. Be Consistent

One of the problems of trying to get pregnant is when you try something, think it doesn’t work and then move into the next magical fertility solution, only to find that it doesn’t work either. When you don’t try something for long enough, then you don't give a chance. It usually takes 3 months of doing something consistently to see the result show up in your egg quality or hormones.Taking small consistent steps to improve your fertility is very powerful. It’s like water dripping. One drip doesn’t make much difference, but over time many drips make a waterfall.Keep taking small consistent steps in the right direction. Consistency fuels persistence.

2. Believe In Yourself

It is so hard to keep believing in yourself when every month you get your period and it reminds you that you’re not pregnant again.

Believing in yourself takes a lot of courage and it can be hard. One way of doing this is to show yourself that you are making progress, that you’re getting closer to your baby by tracking your fertility and measuring how your signs change.

When it’s not blind faith and you have the facts that you are getting closer to your baby, then this can be motivating and helps you to believe.

3. Find Others That Believe In You

Surround yourself with people who believe in you too. On those down days, connect with a community that will lift you up and believe in you.

I see your courage, determination and persistence. Know that I believe in you too. You can do this. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you’ll get to the summit.
